Hi, my name is Marc Hardman and I am a writer and director from England, UK. As a filmmaker my early narrative short films always seemed to lean towards comedy. In 2011 my comedy short ''WE ARE WHAT WE DRINK' enjoyed a fantastic international festival run and was long-listed for the BAFTA for Best Short Film.
Since then I have contInued to produce narrative shorts as well as documentary films such as my 2019 film "THE CHEWING GUM MAN" that was broadcast on Sky TV in the UK. I have also worked in feature films in a variety of roles from Special Effects Supervisor to Editor to Associate Producer.
"THE OLD MAN" is my debut feature film as writer and director. It was made on a micro budget but with all efforts made to ensure the film looked and sounded of a standard that defies it's budget limitations. Shooting on ARRI, and with a very small crew, we travelled to the Lake District (in the north of the UK) to film our story about two estranged brothers who must come together, and endure each others company for a weekend, so to honour the dying wish of their recently deceased father: They must scatter his ashes at the top of a mountain called The Old Man of Coniston.
The Old Man is my first feature film. I am currently developing further feature screenplays as well as television pilots.
