Malini Raman-Middleton is a 17 year old actor and filmmaker living in Catford, southeast London. She studied film and media production at the Brit School, and is now studying the Technical pathway at London screen Academy. Along side this she is part of the Ghetto Film school, set to graduate in 2025.
Growing up in a mixed Hindu and Jewish heritage family in a culturally and economically diverse part of London, she uses film to explore identity, belonging and social justice. She directed a film ‘The Incident’ which was shown in a community showcase at the Tate Modern. She also wrote and directed ‘Killing Time’ which was a semi-finalist in the Childrens Cinema Awards. She is currently working on her first documentary called ‘The Half-Desi Project’.
