This is a community event for those who want to share their art with the world--more specifically, the San Francisco community. Madrone Art Bar has been showcasing a rotation of various art forms such as fine art, photography, fashion, and music, for upwards of 10 years. For the first time, we want to broaden these horizons to feature films and motion pictures! As an art bar, we would like to integrate films as they are another community-driven form of art that deserves more attention and recognition for their creativity, labor, and passion.

NOTICE: THERE HAVE BEEN AN OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF NON-LOCAL SUBMISSIONS.

IF YOU ARE FROM SAN FRANCISCO / THE BAY AREA, PLEASE NOTE IT IN YOUR COVER LETTER @ CHECK OUT TO GET PRIORITY CONSIDERATION!
OR
SEND ME AN EMAIL AT jasmine@madroneartbar.com with "bay area local" AS THE SUBJECT LINE AND (film title) AS THE MESSAGE

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN MAKING THIS A COMMUNITY EVENT!

The event will be on April 22, 2023, from 4-7 pm. There will be 10-minute breaks between every 5 films or 45 minutes, so people can get drinks, use the bathroom, and have a social moment without disrupting the art. There are 4 screens visible from all angles inside the bar and films will be projected on all 4.

There is no entry fee, nor is there a cash prize. Films with outstanding community praise will be featured for the visual enjoyment of guests, on a rotation, during business hours

The point of this is simply to share your art with the world. Putting your name out to the greater art and film community while demonstrating pride in something you created.

If you would like to give people the ability to find more information about you, please add a website link or QR code in the credits or after the end of your film-- for a website, portfolio, film links, or any other informational links. You never know who is going to sit down at our bar one summer evening and desperately want to know the creator of your film.
