Madeleine Sophia Wilson is a 15 year old filmmaker born and raised in the East Bay. Madeleine is currently a freshman at Berkeley High School, where she is a part of the highly acclaimed Video Production class, where she has made a short experimental film entitled At First Glance and a PSA video about the importance of abortion rights. She’s also been a part of the Reel Stories and BAVC community for 3 years, attending their summer camps and as a part of their student board, where she has worked as a DP, a director, an editor, an animator, etc. As a part of their student board, she has directed and produced a narrative short film about two people at opposite ends of their lives, discussing life and death over strawberries, a story that resonates personally with Madeleine in her own life. In addition, she is currently working on a short documentary about divorce, and its effects on parents and children. This year, she began interning with Berkeley Community Media (BCM), where they are producing a 3 episode television show. Madeleine has also won “Best First Time Filmmaker” at Bridge Fest Film Festival. As an aspiring film director and producer, Madeleine has and continues to work diligently to build her resumé and experience the world of film through every opportunity presented.
