ENGLISH:
The Made Here Film Festival is a regional festival for filmmakers/key creative personnel (producers, directors, editors, DoPs) residing in New England and Québec, co-produced by VTIFF and Vermont Public. Please do not apply unless you live in this region. The festival provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to show your screen films, meet other filmmakers, industry representatives and broadcasters people in the region.

All styles of films and lengths (above 3 minutes) are accepted. The regional location of filmmakers does not mean that the subject of the films needs to be regional.
MHFF is free to the public but donations are encouraged. The Festival will share a percentage of donations received with the filmmakers.

Award winning films may also be screened at the Savoy Theater in Montpelier, VT. Award winning films may also be included in the October 2024 Vermont International Film Festival.

VTIFF & Vermont Public reserve the right to present selected films as a virtual event on its secure online platform.

One of the best festivals I’ve ever attended, and my personal favorite. Warm, community-minded organizers, down-to-earth, and great hospitality. Just personal opinion here from someone who’s been to a number of fests: MHFF had what I feel were the strongest film selections I’ve seen — quality with artistry, content and craft, but refreshingly not formulaic or cliche. The main organizer, Orly, is amazing — she’s involved with every aspect of the festival, and is friendly and approachable. Very welcoming staff and volunteers. Always very communicative, and the logistics ran so smoothly. It’s a wonderful experience to see and play alongside other films from Quebec, and to have interaction with Vermont International Film Festival and Vermont PBS — a joy and honor. They also helped with accommodations, gave complimentary meals, and shared proceeds of ticket sales with filmmakers. Great opportunity to network with other filmmakers and interact with engaged audiences. A wonderful, authentic festival. Thank you, MHFF. Looking forward to attending future events.

Attending this year's Made Here Film Festival in Burlington was truly an honor for us. Our film, "The Quietest Year," received a warm reception from a well-attended and engaged audience, showcasing its potential for local impact. The opportunity to connect with fellow filmmakers, old friends, our crew, and individuals featured in our film was invaluable.

The panel sessions led by industry veterans were enlightening, and the informal atmosphere made everyone approachable. The sense of community at the festival was a breath of fresh air for us Vermonters who often work in isolation. We are grateful for such a stimulating and well-organized event that brought us all together. Thank you VTIFF and Vermont Public for a memorable experience!
