🎬 MTPIFF – Montpellier Independent Film Festival proudly launches its very first edition!

MTPIFF is an international hybrid film festival based in Montpellier, France.

Each month, we celebrate independent fiction cinema (short and feature films) by selecting winners in regional, national, and international categories (Experimental, Animated films and documentary films are not accepted).

πŸ† Monthly winners receive official laurels, certificates digital .

πŸ“’ Winning films each month will be announced and published on the festival’s official social media channels (Facebook & Instagram) as well as on the MTPIFF website.

πŸŽ₯ At the end of the season (June 2026), all monthly award-winning films are pre-selected for the final selection. The finalist films will be screened during an in-person event in Montpellier, with a special screening at the cinema in July 2026, followed by an awards ceremony.

🎬 Film industry professionals will attend the event, which will include film screenings, meet-and-greets, networking opportunities, masterclasses, and Q&A sessions with the selected filmmakers.

🎯 MTPIFF’s goal is to give year-round visibility to independent, bold, and creative voices in cinema, culminating in a physical event to honor the best films of the season.

⚠️ To be eligible for the cinema screening in Montpellier (annual competition for Best Short and Feature Film), films not originally in French must be subtitled in French.
πŸ‘‰ For monthly selections, films must be either in English or have at least English subtitles.

The submission date determines the selection month.
For example, a film submitted on August 25, 2025 will compete for the August 2025 selection, and the winners will be announced at the beginning of the following month (around September 1 or 2, 2025).

⚠️ Submissions close on the 25th of each month, in order to allow the jury enough time to view the last entries and deliberate.
Any film submitted after the 25th will automatically be moved to the following month’s selection.
Example: a film submitted on August 26 will compete for the September selection and not for August.
πŸ‘‰ According to the regulations, only one film per director per month is accepted in competition. In case of multiple submissions, the organizer reserves the right to keep one film for the current session and defer the others to subsequent sessions.
