CONVOCATORIA MICMXIFF7
EL FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE MICMXIFF convoca a productores y realizadores de México, y el mundo, para que inscriban sus películas a la séptima edición que se realizará del 20 al 28 de marzo de 2026.
La convocatoria abre el 14 de julio de 2025 y cierra el 12 de Enero de 2026 a las 18:00 (tiempo del centro de México-6 GMT).
EXTENDEMOS LA CONVOCATORIA HASTA EL 23 DE ENERO.
Los resultados se darán a conocer en Febrero 2026 a través de www.micmxiff.org y las redes sociales del Festival.
En ningún caso el MICMXIFF pagará derechos de exhibición a películas en competencia oficial.
En caso de obtener una selección en cualquier categoría, es imprescindible asistir al festival, al menos a competencia nacional; en caso contrario, quedará descalificado.
Se considerarán proyectos finalizados entre 2024 y 2025.
INSCRIPCIÓN Y SELECCIÓN
Para ser consideradas, las películas deberán inscribirse de la siguiente manera:

Las inscripciones deben ser acompañadas de copias de visionado digitales (screeners).
El equipo de programación puede adaptar los trabajos a alguna sub-categoría no especificada en la convocatoria, ya sea por algún patrón de géneros, temáticas o técnicas que tengan demanda en los trabajos enviados, por ejemplo: terror, stop Motion, horror, etc.
La presencia de los realizadores es obligatoria en los casos de las películas de ficción, documental y animación en competencia.
La ausencia del director podrá ser causa para que el proyecto sea retirado de la selección oficial.
La selección de los trabajos será competencia del festival por el equipo de programación y miembros de los jurados de preselección.
Las inscripciones tendrán los siguientes costos:
Sección Xólotl y Axólotl
- Largometrajes $15 USD.
- Cortometrajes $10 USD.
Sección MIC Norte
- Largometrajes $10 USD.
- Cortometrajes $7 USD.
Todos los materiales son evaluados por un comité de selección conformado por especialistas y gente del gremio presidido por la dirección general del MICMXIFF.
La selección será inapelable.
Es importante enviar todos los materiales completos: tráiler, ficha técnica, póster, stills, película.
Enviar PRESS KIT incluyendo los siguientes materiales: foto fija del trabajo (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); sinopsis de la obra (inglés y español); breve biografía del director (inglés y español); fotografía del director (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); ficha técnica con lista de
créditos.
La inscripción y participación de una película supone la plena aceptación del presente reglamento y las fechas estipuladas en la Convocatoria.
JURADO
El jurado estará integrado por reconocidos profesionales de la industria cinematográfica y el ámbito cultural.
Sus miembros serán nominados por el Comité Organizador.
Cada institución invitada por el MICMXIFF seleccionará y postulará a su(s) representante(s).
Miembros del MICMXIFF podrán estar presentes en las deliberaciones de los jurados, pero no podrán emitir un voto.
La decisión final del jurado será inapelable. Ningún premio oficial podrá declararse desierto.
Los premios a Mejor Película de cada sección no podrán declararse ex aequo.
En caso de que el jurado lo decida, se podrán otorgar menciones honoríficas y/o premiar a más de una película en caso de que así lo decida conveniente.
El Premio del Público será otorgado a la película mejor calificada por la audiencia.
El público emitirá su voto durante las proyecciones públicas.
EXHIBICIÓN
La Dirección del Festival acordará el orden y la fecha de exhibición de cada trabajo.
Los trabajos inscritos podrán ser seleccionados para muestras fuera de competencia.
Los trabajos seleccionados podrán formar parte de las muestras nacionales e internacionales en las que participe el MICMXIFF durante 2026.
Todas las películas seleccionadas para el MICMXIFF7 deberán entregar una copia final de exhibición en formato de cine digital DCP y Blue Ray.
Para las secciones en competencia las películas en español deberán estar subtituladas al inglés; las películas en idiomas distintos deben estar subtituladas al español y al inglés.
Las películas seleccionadas para la competencia oficial deberán cubrir los costos por KDM, envíos y subtitulaje.
En ningún caso el MICMXIFF pagará derechos de exhibición a películas en competencia oficial.

CALL FOR ENTRIES MICMXIFF7
The INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL MICMXIFF invites producers and directors from Mexico, and the world to register their films for the seventh edition that will be held from March 20 to 28, 2026.
The call opens on July 14, 2025 and closes on January 12, 2026 at 18:00 (Central Mexico Time-6 GMT).

REGISTRATION AND SELECTION
To be considered, the films must be registered as follows:

Registrations must be accompanied by digital viewing copies (screeners).
The programming team can adapt the works to a sub-category not specified in the call, either by some pattern of genres, themes or techniques that have demand in the works sent, for example: terror, stop Motion, horror, etc.
The presence of the filmmakers is mandatory in the cases of fiction, documentary and animated films in competition.
The absence of the director may be cause for the project to be removed from the official selection.
The selection of the works will be the responsibility of the festival by the programming team and members of the pre-selection juries.

MIC North Section
- Feature films $10 USD.
- Short films $7 USD.
All materials are evaluated by a selection committee made up of specialists and people from the guild chaired by the general management of the MICMXIFF.
The selection will be final.
It is important to send all the complete materials, trailer, technical sheet, poster, stills, film.
Send PRESS KIT including the following materials: fixed photo of the work (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); synopsis of the work (English and Spanish); brief biography of the director (English and Spanish); photograph of the director (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); technical sheet with list of credits.
The registration and participation of a film implies the full acceptance of these regulations and the dates stipulated in the Call.
JURY
The jury will be made up of recognized professionals from the film industry and the cultural field.
Its members will be nominated by the Organizing Committee.
Each institution invited by the MICMXIFF will select and nominate its representative(s).
Members of the MICMXIFF may be present at the deliberations of the juries but may not cast a vote.
The final decision of the jury will be final. No official prize can be declared deserted.
The Best Film awards of each section cannot be declared ex aequo.
In the event that the jury decides, honorary mentions may be awarded and / or awarded to more than one film if it so decides.
The Audience Award will be awarded to the film best rated by the audience.
The public will cast their vote during the public screenings.
EXHIBITION
The Festival Management will agree on the order and date of exhibition of each work.
Registered works may be selected for out-of-competition samples.
The selected works may be part of the national and international samples in which the MICMXIFF participates during 2026.
All films selected for the MICMXIFF7 must deliver a final exhibition copy in DCP and Blue Ray digital cinema format.
For competing sections, films in Spanish must be subtitled in English; films in different languages must be subtitled in Spanish and English.
The films selected for the official competition must cover the costs by KDM, shipments and subtitles.
In no case will the MICMXIFF pay exhibition fees to films in official competition.
COMPETENCIA OFICIAL

En ningún caso el MICMXIFF pagará derechos de exhibición a películas en competencia oficial.
En caso de obtener una selección en cualquier categoría, es imprescindible asistir al festival, al menos a competencia nacional, en caso contrario quedará descalificado.
Se considerarán largometrajes finalizados entre 2024 y 2025.
Las inscripciones de largometrajes tendrán un costo de $15 USD.
En formato de cine, video o digital, que no hayan concretado distribución en las salas cinematográficas del país, exhibidos en línea, salas públicas, televisión, ni distribuidos en Blu-ray/ DVD, páginas de streaming por internet, redes sociales o plataformas VOD, podrán competir en las siguientes categorías:

En caso de obtener una selección en cualquier categoría, es imprescindible asistir al festival, en caso contrario quedará descalificado.

Las inscripciones de cortometrajes tendrán un costo de $7USD y de largometrajes $10 USD.

Una curaduría de películas provenientes del país invitado.
PREMIOS
Los premios otorgados dentro del MICMXIFF recompensan el talento, reconocen y fomentan el desarrollo artístico de los realizadores, así como incentivan el fortalecimiento de la industria audiovisual.
Los galardones oficiales del Festival Internacional de Cine MICMX son XÓLOTL y AXÓLOTL, estatuillas conmemorativas que se otorga a los ganadores de las secciones en competencia.
Cada reconocimiento será decisión de un jurado formado por profesionales del medio cinematográfico, cuyos nombres serán dados a conocer oportunamente. Las decisiones de los jurados serán inapelables.
Existen premios no oficiales como, servicios de postproducción, corrección de color, edición, dcps, producción, catering, equipo cinematográfico, distribución, etcétera, otorgados por instituciones, asociaciones y empresas afiliadas al MICMXIFF.

AWARDS
The awards given within the MICMXIFF reward talent, recognize and encourage the artistic development of the directors, as well as encourage the strengthening of the audiovisual industry.
The official awards of the MICMX International Film Festival are XÓLOTL and AXÓLOTL, commemorative statuettes that are given to the winners of the competing sections.
Each recognition will be decided by a jury made up of professionals in the film medium, whose names will be announced in a timely manner. The decisions of the juries will be final.
There are unofficial awards such as post-production services, color correction, editing, dcps, production, catering, film equipment, distribution, etc., granted by institutions, associations and companies affiliated with the MICMXIFF.
