CONVOCATORIA SELECCIÓN OFICIAL MICMXIFF5
La convocatoria abre el viernes 11 de agosto de 2023 a las 12:00 h.
La fecha de cierre para largometrajes y cortometrajes será el viernes 19 de enero de 2024 a las 23:59 h.
La 5.ª EDICIÓN DEL FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE MICMXIFF se celebrará del 16 al 23 de marzo 2024.
EL FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE MICMXIFF busca impulsar y difundir la producción cinematográfica de México y el mundo a través del encuentro y colaboración de sus industrias, la formación de nuevos talentos y la difusión de películas de la región para que puedan acceder a una mayor audiencia.
INSCRIPCIÓN Y SELECCIÓN
– Todos los materiales son evaluados por un comité de selección conformado por especialistas y gente del gremio presidido por la dirección general del MICMXIFF.
– El equipo de programación puede adaptar los trabajos a alguna subcategoría no especificada en la convocatoria, ya sea por algún patrón de géneros, temáticas o técnicas que tengan demanda en los trabajos enviados, por ejemplo: terror, stop Motion, horror, etc.
Para ser consideradas, las películas deberán inscribirse de la siguiente manera:
– Llenar la ficha de inscripción disponible en la página www.micmxiff.com y en
https://filmfreeway.com/MICMXIFF
– Las inscripciones deben ser acompañadas de copias de visionado digitales (screeners).
– La selección de los trabajos será competencia del festival por el equipo de programación y miembros de los jurados de preselección.
– La selección será inapelable.
– Enviar PRESS KIT incluyendo los siguientes materiales: foto fija del trabajo (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); sinopsis de la obra (inglés y español); breve biografía del director (inglés y español); fotografía del director (en formato jpg o tif a 300 dpi); ficha técnica con lista de créditos en FilmFreeway.
– La inscripción y participación de una película supone la plena aceptación del presente reglamento y las fechas estipuladas en la Convocatoria.
JURADO
– El jurado estará integrado por reconocidos profesionales de la industria cinematográfica y el ámbito cultural.
– Sus miembros serán nominados por el Comité Organizador.
– Cada institución invitada por el MICMXIFF seleccionará y postulará a su(s) representante(s).
– Miembros del MICMXIFF podrán estar presentes en las deliberaciones de los jurados, pero no podrán emitir un voto.
– La decisión final del jurado será inapelable. Ningún premio oficial podrá declararse desierto.
– Los premios a Mejor Película de cada sección no podrán declararse ex aequo.
– En caso de que el jurado lo decida, se podrán otorgar menciones honoríficas y/o premiar a más de una película en caso de que así lo decida conveniente (solo estatuilla)
– El Premio del Público será otorgado a la película mejor calificada por la audiencia.
– El público emitirá su voto durante las proyecciones públicas.
EXHIBICIÓN
– La Dirección del Festival acordará el orden y la fecha de exhibición de cada trabajo.
– Los trabajos inscritos podrán ser seleccionados para muestras fuera de competencia.
– Los trabajos seleccionados podrán formar parte de las muestras nacionales e internacionales en las que participe el MICMXIFF durante 2024.
– Todas las películas seleccionadas para el MICMXIFF deberán entregar una copia final de exhibición en formato digital DCP o Blue Ray.
– Para las secciones en competencia, las películas en español deberán estar subtituladas al inglés; las películas en idiomas distintos deben estar subtituladas al español y al inglés.
– Los costos de los subtítulos corren a cuenta de quién realiza la inscripción.

The call for entries opens on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 12:00 noon.
The closing date for feature and short films will be Friday, January 19, 2024 at 23:59 hrs.
THE 5th EDITION OF THE MICMXIFF INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will be held from March 16 to 23, 2024.
The MICMXIFF INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL seeks to promote and disseminate the film production of Mexico and the world through the meeting and collaboration of its industries, the formation of new talents and the dissemination of films from the region so that they can access a wider audience.
REGISTRATION AND SELECTION
- All materials are evaluated by a selection committee made up of specialists and people from the industry chaired by the general direction of the MICMXIFF.
- The programming team may adapt the works to any sub-category not specified in the call for entries, either by any genre pattern, theme or technique that is in demand in the submitted works, for example: horror, stop motion, horror, etc.
To be considered, films must be submitted in the following manner:
- Fill out the registration form available at www.micmxiff.com and at
https://filmfreeway.com/MICMXIFF
- Entries must be accompanied by digital screeners.
- The selection of the works will be the responsibility of the festival's programming team and members of the pre-selection juries.
- The selection will be final.
- Send PRESS KIT including the following materials: still photo of the work (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); synopsis of the work (English and Spanish); brief biography of the director (English and Spanish); photograph of the director (in jpg or tif format at 300 dpi); technical file with list of credits in FilmFreeway.
- The registration and participation of a film implies full acceptance of these rules and the dates stipulated in the Call for Entries.
JURY
- The jury will be made up of renowned professionals from the film industry and the cultural sphere.
- Its members will be nominated by the Organizing Committee.
- Each institution invited by the MICMXIFF will select and nominate its representative(s).
- Members of the MICMXIFF may be present at the jury deliberations but may not cast a vote.
- The final decision of the jury is final. No official award may be declared void.
- The awards for Best Film in each section may not be declared ex aequo.
- If the Jury so decides, honorable mentions may be given and/or more than one film may be awarded if the Jury so decides (statuette only).
- The Audience Award will be given to the film rated best by the audience.
- The public will cast its vote during the public screenings.
EXHIBITION
- The Festival Management will decide on the order and date of exhibition of each film.
- Entries may be selected for out-of-competition screenings.
- The selected works may be part of the national and international screenings in which the MICMXIFF participates during 2024.
- All films selected for the MICMXIFF must submit a final exhibition copy in DCP or Blue Ray digital format.
- For competing sections, films in Spanish must be subtitled in English; films in other languages must be subtitled in Spanish and English.
- Subtitling costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

En formato de cine, video o digital, que no hayan concretado distribución en las salas cinematográficas del país, exhibidos en línea, salas públicas, televisión, ni distribuidos en Blu-ray/DVD, páginas de streaming por internet, redes sociales o plataformas VOD, y cuya fecha de cumplir producción sea posterior al 1 de enero del 2023, podrán competir en las siguientes categorías:

PREMIOS
Los premios otorgados dentro del MICMXIFF recompensan el talento, reconocen y fomentan el desarrollo artístico de los realizadores, así como incentivan el fortalecimiento de la industria audiovisual.
– El galardón oficial del Festival Internacional de Cine MICMX es el MICXOLOTL, estatuilla conmemorativa que se otorga a los ganadores de las secciones en competencia.
– Cada reconocimiento será decisión de un jurado internacional formado por profesionales del medio cinematográfico, cuyos nombres serán dados a conocer oportunamente. Las decisiones de los jurados serán inapelables.
– Los premios pueden incluir trofeos, dinero o equipo y servicios en especie otorgados por nuestros patrocinadores, por ejemplo, servicios de postproducción, producción, catering, equipo cinematográfico, etcétera.
– Existen premios no oficiales otorgados independientemente por instituciones, asociaciones y empresas afiliadas al MICMXIFF.
– Los patrocinadores de estos premios definirán su propio sistema y reglamento de operación, el MICMXIFF no tiene injerencia sobre los mismos.
Los premios serán anunciados al final del Festival por el jurado internacional conformado para cada sección, quienes evaluarán la excelencia artística de las películas en competencia.

The out-of-competition program is invited to participate in free screenings throughout the year.

AWARDS
The awards granted within the MICMXIFF reward talent, recognize and promote the artistic development of filmmakers, as well as encourage the strengthening of the audiovisual industry.
- The official award of the MICMXIFF is the MICXOLOTL, a commemorative statuette given to the winners of the sections in competition.
- Each award will be decided by an international jury made up of film professionals, whose names will be announced in due course. The decisions of the juries will be final.
- Prizes may include trophies, money or equipment and in-kind services provided by our sponsors, for example, post-production services, production, catering, film equipment, etcetera.
- There are unofficial awards granted independently by institutions, associations and companies affiliated with MICMXIFF.
- The sponsors of these awards will define their own system and rules of operation; the MICMXIFF has no influence over them.
The awards will be announced at the end of the Festival by the international jury formed for each section, who will evaluate the artistic excellence of the films in competition.
