The International Archaeology Film Festival is a biennial event organized by the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, Croatia and takes place in the Museum in the beginning of November.
Films submitted for the festival cover a wide range of subjects from archaeology and cultural heritage to monument protection and anthropology.
The festival consists of international and national films in competition as well as an accompanying program made of lectures, restrospectives and/or exhibitions. All foreign films are subtitled in Croatian.
Entry to the festival is free.
The Festival catalogue brings the competition and accompanying program.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be awarded by the Festival international jury.
The prize represents a replica of the sculpture Croatian King by Croatian sculptor Vasko Lipovac.
The Jury may decide on a special mention if deemed necessary.
The Audience Prize will be awarded to the best film according to public votes.

The Festival invites directors and producers of documentary films with a topic in archaeology and cultural heritage.
Eligible for the Festival are films produced after January 1, 2016 including films already presented to the public by means of TV or other Festivals. All forms are welcome. There is no limit as to the duration of the films.
No fee is charged for participating authors.
The selection results will be announced June 1, 2022. Authors of selected films shall be notified and invited to submit screening copies. The film shall be submitted in full HD resolution. If there are several versions of the film, the screening version has to be identical to the selection one. Screening copies sent by post shall be sent to the following address and shall reach the Organizer by June 15, 2022:

Please note that the submitted material should be marked as: “Non-commercial value. For cultural purposes only”.
The Museum is entitled to use photographs from the film and the photograph of the director in the Festival catalogue, poster, Museum website and the media in reports about the Festival.
The Museum is entitled to show the films for non-commercial and educational purposes within its programs with the aim of rendering popular the Festival at occasions such as the Museum Night, International Museum Day and the like.
The Museum shall have the right to show part (10%) of a selected film in TV programs, announcements and reports from the Festival, as well as on the Museum website.
The Museum is entitled to use photographs from the film and the photograph of the director in the Festival catalogue, poster, Museum website and the media in reports about the Festival.
The Museum shall return the presentation copy to the authors within 2 weeks after the Festival the latest unless otherwise agreed.
The Film shall be returned at the expense of the Festival if sent to the address given in the Entry form. Otherwise, the expenses shall be equally shared by the Festival and the receiver.
By submitting the film to the Festival, directors and producers accept the Rules and Terms and confirm that all entered data are true and that full copyright has been cleared.
