The 2nd Macau International Children's Film Festival Opening Ceremony in Zhuhai has been officially launched on June 2,2024.The 2nd award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Macau and Hengqin in 2025. On the grand stage of the Macau International Children's Film Festival, excellent children's films from around the world will be gathered, allowing children from China and around the world to exchange ideas and learn together. Golden Childhood Light and Shadow Dream! Through the selection, exhibition, and recognition of outstanding children's films of the year, not only will it provide a platform for children's film enthusiasts and practitioners to showcase their artistic creations, but it will also better promote the seamless integration of children's film works and talent with commercial cooperation, showcasing the diverse cultures of children's art in all aspects.

General Eligibility

1. Entries must be accompanied by the applicable entry fee for each entry and a completed online entry form.
2. Entries are accepted in any language, but must have English subtitles or Chinese subtitles. (Chinese English bilingual subtitles are better)
3. Entries must be submitted as an online streaming video via a participating entry platform (FilmFreeway) or a password-protected streaming URL. If there is a DVD registration requirement, please contact us via email.(Formacauchildren@outlook.com)
4. If the password or link is changed after submission, you must immediately email the Festival at Formacauchildren@outlook.com to inform us of the change so that we can update your records. If the Festival is not notified of the change and the link is found to be invalid or the password is incorrect, the entry may be deemed ineligible.
5. There is no premiere requirement. All entries must have been completed after January 1, 2023.
6.There is no mandatory age requirement for the main characters in the film. All films must be suitable for teenagers and children. Bloody and violent films are not accepted.
7. Films and series that have been submitted to MCF in previous years are eligible for resubmission, provided they comply with all current MCF rules.
8. Short films that have been publicly screened online prior to the Festival may be submitted and enter the competition. We prefer short films not to be publicly screened online. Private online screenings through the Festival's online program do not count as public online screenings.
9. We prefer children's films that have already had an international theatrical release.
10. Episodic series submissions must be the first 1 to 3 episodes of the first season of the series. The total length of the submission must be 30 minutes or less. Only new series will be considered.
11. Digital series that have been publicly screened online are still eligible to enter and win.
12. MCF reserves the right to reject or disqualify any ineligible entry at its sole discretion without refund.
13. Films and series selected for Festival screening are not necessarily selected for "Competition". Notification of possible Competition status may be sent after notification of exhibition acceptance.
14. Entrants can submit through digital media. The film festival will screen the film in DCP format.

Additional Information
1. Films that have not received full color editing or sound editing are eligible for submission. MCF's focus is on story, and technical changes such as color or sound will not affect the final decision of any film. If the film is accepted for screening during the Festival, the filmmaker will be given the opportunity to provide the Festival with their latest version.
2. Once entry payment is received, we cannot provide a refund. If the entrant disputes the payment for any reason, the entrant may be required to pay any transaction fees or similar amounts incurred by MCF as a result of the dispute.
3. You must provide your physical address and telephone number on the entry form or cover letter. Please do not submit your film without providing an address, which is required for record keeping and contact purposes.

Returns and Confirmations:

DVDs and press materials are not returnable under any circumstances. If you wish to confirm receipt of your entry, please include a self-addressed, stamped postcard with each submission.
