I'm an independent filmmaker with a passion for 80s style horror. Inspired by the era’s practical effects and eerie atmosphere, I create films that bring that nostalgic terror to life. Horror isn’t just a genre for me, it’s what I love to make.
Mark Williams was born in Goldsboro, NC, and dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. After multiple combat tours, he retired to pursue his true passion, filmmaking.
Settling in Sumter, SC, Mark became involved in the local arts scene, particularly at the Sumter Little Theatre, where he connected with a talented community of creatives. In July 2024, he wrote his first screenplay, Mary’s Lake, a supernatural camp slasher inspired by classic horror films like Sleepaway Camp and Friday the 13th. Production for the film began in October 2024.
A lifelong horror fan, Mark draws inspiration from legends like Tom Savini, Sam Raimi, and John Carpenter. His love for 80s horror and practical effects fuels his creative vision.
Mark has been happily married to Lindsay Williams for 22 years, and together they have two children who attend the University of South Carolina, Go Gamecocks!
