VASSILIS C. KARAMITSANIS- EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Born in Athens, 1976, he finished high school at the Athens College Lyceum. Holding a degree in Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (GR), he completed post graduate studies in the Universities of Rotterdam (NL), Hamburg (D) and Aix-Marseille III (F). A licenced attorney-at-Law by the Athens Bar Association since 2002, he has served as Counsel to the Greek Minister for Development during 2012-2014 and as a special advisor to the Greek Minister for Health during 2003-2004. He was President of the Board of Directors of the Greek National Opera during 2018-2019. He's president to ASIFA HELLAS - Hellenic Animation Association and Animasyros International Animation Festival. He is elected member of Board of Directors of CIFEJ (International Centre of Films for Children & Young People).
In the audiovisual production section he has served as scriptwriter and executive producer of the TV Series Animert dedicated to the Greek Animation broadcasted by the Greek National Television and also as an executive producer for all commissioned animation and documentary works of PLATFORMA-Urban Culture Co production company. In 2021 he has was the scriptwriter of the animated documentary film Hellenic Places: Hermoupolis produced by PLATFORMA-Urban Culture Co. He speaks fluently English, French and German.

MARIA ANESTOPOULOU- PRODUCER

Born in Larissa, Greece. She studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and pursued postgraduate studies in International Commercial Law & Intellectual & Industrial Property Law at the University of Kent in the UK. She has been a founding member and programme director of Platforma Video, an international film festival dedicated to the art of digital film that has been taking place in Athens from 2003-2009. In 2008, she founded, with Vassilis Karamitsanis, Animasyros International Animation Festival, the largest animation event in Greece (www.animasyros.gr). There, she holds the position of the Festival Director. Under her capacity she has developed international cooperation schemes with multiple animation organisations and she is particularly dedicated to the promotion of the local animation industry internationally. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of ASIFA Hellas. Since 2016, Animasyros has been engaged in the area of production of animated films. In this context, Maria has produced only 2021 a short animated documentary (Hellenic Places: Hermoupolis 17 ́ 2021), 4 short promotional videos commissioned by Greek National Tourist Office and 2 animated video clips commissioned by the largest Greek Radio Station and the most prominent record label respectively. In her non-animated world, she works as a legal advisor at the General Secretariat of Public Investments and the European Structural Funds at the Greek Ministry of Investments & Development and she collects fridge magnets.
