Moving to Austin for its second year, the Lysistrata Comedy Festival is a four day festival celebrating the collective power of women - now with more rage! No, seriously - wtf is going on with this industry/country/planet?

Are you mad, too? We want to see a sketch show about it! Depressed? Stop hiding it and choreograph a burlesque routine about your blues! Inexplicably horny? Congratulations, you’re great at dissociating, now write a set about it! We believe that there is great power in vulnerability, and one of the greatest superpowers you have is the ability to make all of this bullshit funny. Some say it can’t be done (you know everybody has a festival now ;), but those people are just men!

Short films, musical comedy (or comedic music), podcasting, burlesque, improv, stand-up - we're accepting submissions of any type of performance medium, as long as it fits under the genre of *comedy*. Women of color and non-binary people are strongly encouraged to apply. Aside from showcasing your talents, this will be an amazing opportunity to grow your comedy community and while this isn’t a conference, we hope that our daytime workshops will leave you a happier artist.

This festival will take place March 30 - April 2, 2023 in Austin, TX. We hope you join us!
