Originally from Almería, Luis Navarrete moved to Madrid to study Medicine. But in 2015, he discovered the film industry, which offered an outlet for what had always been his true calling.
After training in directing, screenwriting and acting, he wrote and directed several projects, including the short films “Queridísimo papá” and “Dirigido por Lola”, which garnered numerous selections and awards at international festivals, as well as music videos like “La rara eres tú”.
In 2021, he released his first feature film in theaters, the musical “The Phantom of the Sauna”, which toured international festivals throughout 2022, earning various awards. Later, it became available on streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Filmin, and through international distributors like TLA Releasing.
In September 2024, he will shoot his second film, Calcination, a psychological thriller set in the landscapes of Almería. The film is set to release in late 2025.
