Luigi Salvo was born in Palermo in the year 1964, beginning his artistic activity in photografic sector in 1982. In 1984 wins the prize “AGFA” in competition “La Sicilia e il mare” (Sicily and the sea). In 1988 he makes his first film “ Giungla di Piombo (Lead Jungle)”. In 1992 concludes the film “La fine del gioco” (The end of the game). In 1998 realizes the short-film “Diamanti (Diamonds)”, that wins the special prize of jury in the international competition “Milano Short-Film Festival ‘98” and a special mention to the New York Film Festival ‘99”. in 2000 he realizes "Bersaglio nella memoria” (Brain bullet) that wins the following awards: in 2001, best short film at the international competition" XX Round 2001 "of Rimini; Best Short Film Award and Soundtrack at the IV National Competition “Immagini a confronto” (Images in Comparison); third place in the international competition of Rome-Cinecittà “L’arte fra Letteratura e Cinematografia” (The art between Literature and Cinematography); special mention of the jury at "Alternative Film Festival" in Picciano (Pe); among the top nine in the international competition "Cinemae 2001" in Rome where it won the prestigious Rai Trade award consisting in the international distribution of the work by Rai; in 2007 his work is selected at Steven Spielberg's "On the lot" international online competition in which it was among the most voted short films by the public; in 2019 he realizes a new version of “Bersaglio nella memoria” (brain bullet) adding new scenes and ends the filming of the new short film “Giochi pericolosi” (One million ways to die) that took so much effort and means produced by Orange System.
