THE KAISERHOF HOTEL
Project Overview:
The Kaiserhof Hotel uncovers a buried chapter of WWII history: a clandestine resistance movement operating from within the Nazi elite itself. Based on newly surfaced evidence suppressed for decades, this dramatic scripted feature film reveals how a poised ballroom dancer and a scrutinized industrialist risked everything to stop Hitler from inside the regime that distrusted them most. The project has already received 10 international awards, including recognition in Israel and Ukraine, underscoring its global resonance and commercial potential.
Logline:
In 1930s Germany, a disciplined ballroom dancer and a powerful industrialist risk everything as they are drawn into a clandestine plot to kill Hitler—while living under the constant gaze of a regime that never trusted them.
Story Foundation:
At the heart of the film is Barbara Goette—conservative, loyal, resilient, and morally unshakeable. A woman who thrived in polite society, she becomes the catalyst for a dangerous act of conscience. Her quiet strength profoundly influences Ludwig Roselius, a prominent industrialist whose aircraft company placed him under relentless Nazi scrutiny.
In a revealing historical anomaly, the Nazis refused Roselius membership in the Party—an exclusion that signalled deep suspicion and placed him in a uniquely perilous position: close enough to be monitored, but never trusted. Guided by Barbara’s unwavering ethics, the pair became entangled in a high‑risk conspiracy to eliminate Hitler, operating under constant surveillance and danger.
Key elements of their story were intentionally withheld from public record for decades to protect families and those who survived the war. The Kaiserhof Hotel exposes these long-concealed truths, revealing the human cost of resistance and the moral fractures inside the Nazi regime. Much later, in Adelaide, Barbara’s closest friends included Mitzi Bergl and Lady von Schramek (née Popper)—women who, like her, carried histories of courage, trauma, and survival.
Creative Background:
I was born in West Germany in 1949 and migrated to Australia in 1950, later becoming an Australian citizen. My academic path led to a B.Sc. (Mathematical Sciences) from the University of Adelaide, followed by twenty‑five years teaching mathematics and physics, including serving as Senior Mathematics Coordinator at Cabra Dominican College and founding Principal of Muirden Matriculation College. My interest in film began early; at sixteen I created a Hitchcock‑inspired short thriller with my brother. Half a century later, I returned to filmmaking with the development of The Kaiserhof Hotel, adapted from my book Bombshell. I am the original and principal writer of the screenplay. One collaborator performed a polish seven years ago and receives 20% of the film‑rights proceeds. Another contributed several scenes and is credited as a creative consultant. Neither collaborator is credited as a co‑writer. My analytical background proved essential in uncovering the historical evidence that forms the backbone of this film.
Commercial Positioning:
The Kaiserhof Hotel sits confidently alongside titles such as:
The Imitation Game
Valkyrie
The Third Man
These comparables demonstrate the strong international appetite for true stories of courage, secrecy, and high‑stakes intrigue. Development has included consultation from U.S. Producer Jack Binder, with plans to film primarily in Adelaide under a tightly controlled development process to maintain confidentiality. A dedicated production company has been registered with ASIC, and business partner Yuri Joakimidis (EP) is assembling the production team.
Half of the historical revelations were deliberately withheld from public release until now, ensuring both intellectual‑property protection and personal safety for those connected to the events. This also highlights the inherent limitations of AI, which can only operate from known information—much of this story has never been publicly accessible.
Investment Invitation:
The project is currently in the financing stage. Expressions of interest from qualified partners, co‑producers, and equity participants are welcome. The entertainment sector continues to perform strongly during global uncertainty. This project offers reduced risk and strong upside, with almost half the budget (QAPE) returned on the film's completion day through established government rebates. We welcome investors seeking early entry, offering a 20% ROI plus a share of net profits, with a possible EP credit for qualifying contributors. A commercially driven film with global potential, fast capital recovery, and meaningful upside.
