Born on November 4, 2001, Louay Rezgui is a young filmmaker, Editor and music composer. He made his first short film in 2014 “Voyons voir” which will be taken at the “Young tunisian Filmmakers Days” in Special Edition and broadcast on Tunisian television on national 1.
In 2015, he directed “The Only Hope” his second short which was selected at the Sousse International Childhood Film Festival (National Competition), at the Kef Court Festival (official selection) and also screened as an opening short film at the artistic event “We Art”.
In June 2016, he was part of the Junior Jury at the “Annecy International Animation Festival” (France) as well as the Junior Jury of the “Ta7rik” animation festival (Tunisia).
In 2017, he joined the El Omran Arts School, specializing in theater, and performed several plays as an actor and composer on some musical themes.
In 2018, he directed his fourth short film “Abweb El hawa” (The Fourth Door) which will be awarded at the first edition of the ICC-INSAT Célèbre le Cinéma ”and will be selected in several festivals such as: The nights of the Tunisian short film -VII edition ”(France),” Festival audiovisual de los montes de maría ”(Colombia),” Official competition of the “Panorama Ciné Court (Tunisia) -VI Edition” and others…
In 2020, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics and Management and joined the Institute of Multimedia Arts of Manouba for cinema studies.
In 2021, he directed his fifth short film “200 millimes”, as part of the Ciné par’court 2021 program funded by the CNCI (National Center for Cinema and Image) and the Goethe Tunis Institute. This latter has been selected for various international and national film festivals. Notably, it received an "Outstanding Award" at the fourth edition of the 4th MEIHODO International Youth Visual Media Festival.
In 2023, he graduated from the Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts of Manouba, specializing in Cinema and Audiovisual with a focus on editing. Meanwhile he directed his new short film, "Ness Lokhra” (The Others).
