Film Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in participating in our Film Festival held during the Literacy Moments Book Festival.

Please review the submission guidelines below before submitting your film.

Eligibility

• Open to youth and independent filmmakers
• Films must align with themes of storytelling, literacy, culture, or community
• All submissions must be original work created by the filmmaker

Film Requirements

• Film must be no longer than 90 minutes
• Acceptable formats: MP4 or MOV
• Films must be appropriate for a general, family-friendly audience
• Any copyrighted music, images, or footage must have proper permission

Submission Agreement

By submitting your film, you confirm that:

• You own the rights to the film
• You have permission from anyone appearing in the film
• You grant permission for your film to be screened during the festival
• You grant permission for promotional use of clips, stills, and film title

Filmmakers retain full ownership of their work.

Judging Criteria

Films will be evaluated based on:

• Storytelling impact
• Creativity
• Relevance to community or culture
• Message clarity
• Overall production effort

Code of Conduct

Films must not include:

• Hate speech
• Explicit content
• Graphic violence
• Discriminatory messaging

Liability

The festival is not responsible for:

• Technical issues during submission
• Damaged or corrupted files
