Lisa Ray-Jacobs - Bio
Lisa is British and French and has lived in Paris since 1992.
She trained as an actress at Drama Centre London and has worked on stage, film & TV in the UK & France and has a very successful career as a voiceover artist.
As a writer, Lisa is committed to creating roles for women over the age of forty.
Just Jewish is her first film as co-writer, producer, director and actress combined. Before deciding to self-produce this quirky romantic comedy short in 2022, the script was short-listed three times in the UK for funding, twice by the Pears Short Film Fund at UK Jewish Film and once by the IMDb Script to Screen Award.
In 2019 she wrote, produced and co-directed a one minute film that was shot on a mobile phone. British Air NO Ways! was a finalist at the Mobile Film Festival 2019 and was due to be screened at the Takavoir Festival, but then came lockdown…
Prior to that she co-wrote, produced and acted in Murmuring Goodbye (1’) by Simon Powell, which was also screened as a finalist at the Mobile Film Festival and WOFFF in 2018.
Amsterdam is Lisa’s first feature script. It was shortlisted for Film London’s Microwave scheme (2015/16), received script development from Alumni (Film London & Creative England), and was selected for the Micro Market in 2016. Actress/director Tara FitzGerald is on board to direct & Georgina French of French Fancy Productions will produce.
In 2014, her first short as writer/producer - Prick Thy Neighbour by Tara FitzGerald - was selected for Film London’s London Calling scheme. She produced it alongside French Fancy Productions. Screened at 9 international film festivals, including BAFTA/Oscar qualifying Palm Springs, it was picked up by French distribution company, Origine Films. It has since been broadcast in several territories around the world.
Lisa was a BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew participant as a writer in 2018 & 2019.

Lisa est britannique et française et vit à Paris depuis 1992.
