Lily Kaplan is a 21-year-old director, writer, and producer born and raised in NYC, currently studying at Northwestern University. Lily wrote her first short The Fixer (2019) at the Northwestern Cherubs Summer Program, at 16 years old, and since then has collaborated on dozens of shorts and videos. Most recently her solo directorial debut, Nein Friends, was released in June 2022 at the Studio22 Productions premiere in Evanston, Illinois.
Before her freshman year, Lily co-directed two films: The Humanity Test (2020) and Four Walls (2021). Her three films have collectively been selected for 24 festivals winning 10 accolades, including the Audience Award at the Red Rock Film Festival and Best Student Sci-Fi Short at Indie Short Fest. This past year Lily has also acted as a production designer, associate producer, and art crew member on multiple student films. Now she is spending her summer working at Lionsgate.
