Lesia Kordonets was born in Ukraine in 1983. Grew up in the times of social turmoil in her homeland, she entered Theodor-Heuss College of Education (promoting democratic responsibility and civil engagement among young people in Eastern Europe). After her graduation in German studies she has written and directed various short films in Ukraine and Switzerland, which won numerous international awards. 2021 BA & MA degree in film with a focus on filmediting and documentary filmmaking (from Zurich University of the Arts). Her diploma work, the feature-length documentary PUSHING BOUNDARIES , had its world premiere at the 52nd Vision Du Reel, and won the ZONTA award.
