A partner of the Academy Awards Qualifier Beirut Shorts International Film Festival and the Beirut International Women Film Festival, and a member of the My Lebanon My World Lebanese Diaspora Film Festivals Network; Lebanon Cinema Days is a cultural initiative led by the Beirut Film Society, positioning cinema as a bridge between Lebanon, the Arab world, and the diaspora through the power of storytelling. As part of Lebanon’s cultural diplomacy through cinema, this annual touring festival strengthens bonds between Lebanese and Arab communities in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom and their cultural roots, while also encouraging dialogue with the cultures of their adopted homelands.

Guided by the spirit of Gebran Khalil Gebran’s words—“You have your Lebanon and I have my Lebanon”—the festival embraces the multiplicity of identities and personal connections to homeland, inviting filmmakers and audiences alike to celebrate “My Lebanon”: a Lebanon of memory, imagination, resilience, and rebirth.

Open to Lebanese, Arab, and international films, Lebanon Cinema Days features a curated selection of feature-length and short films—fiction, animation, and documentaries—showcasing not only works from Lebanon and the Arab world, but also from the hosting countries, including Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, depending on the city where the festival takes place. By bringing together diverse cinematic voices, the festival offers a unique opportunity to both preserve Lebanese and Arab cultural heritage and to foster a deeper understanding of the local cultures in which diaspora communities live.

Special attention is given to works by Lebanese and Arab filmmakers from the diaspora, whose stories—rooted in heritage, identity, and global experience—resonate deeply across continents and generations.

This initiative builds on the legacy of the founder of the Beirut Film Society and the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada. It continues a vision of cultural diplomacy anchored in integrity, professionalism, and transparency—ensuring that the stories of the diaspora are celebrated with authenticity and pride.

While Montreal remains a central hub, the festival is expanding into new cities and countries with the long-term vision of becoming a global celebration of Lebanese and Arab cinema and identity—one that connects cultures, nurtures understanding, and inspires new narratives.
