Leah Doz is a Canadian actor and filmmaker originally from Edmonton, Alberta, currently based in Toronto. Her short film STRANGERS won the Grand Jury Prize and Future of Film is Female Prize at the Nitehawk Shorts Festival in Brooklyn. Her short film TIPS was licensed for broadcast in Canada after premiering at the Canadian Film Festival, and won Best Comedy at Caribbean Tales International Film Festival and Best Actress at the Great Canadian Comedy Film Festival.
As an actor, she co-stars in Grace Glowicki's award-winning sophomore feature DEAD LOVER, which premiered at Sundance, SXSW, Rotterdam, and TIFF. She is a Dora and My Entertainment World award-winning actor, and has performed on Canada’s major stages and in New York. On television, she is known for her acting work in the Canadian Screen Award nominated series NEW EDEN (Crave Original), SCHITT'S CREEK (Netflix/CBC), and STRAYS (CBC), where she was also a contributing writer in the series' development room.
She is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, and fellow of the Black Screen Office, Reelworld Screen Institute, and Women in the Director's Chair. She is in development on her first feature with support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
