Latino Filmmakers Network presents: The Reading & Industry Workshop Series (The Hollywood edition) - A brand-new way of coming together and workshopping to help guide your projects into making them a reality and creating independent films. We will have two projects being workshopped live monthly in Los Angeles, CA by filmmakers. Every workshop will be conducted differently. There will also be an industry panel of professionals in the indie space with advice to get your projects from development to production. Bring your pen, paper, and water! You will have the opportunity to network, meet a future collaborator and get inspired to work on a project of your own. This event is free. You must RSVP to attend. To participate as a Writer, Director or Actor you must submit individually for each or become a member of Latino Filmmakers Network. Please read the Rules & Terms below before submitting.

You are submitting to be part of Latino Filmmakers Network's; The Reading & Industry Workshop Series. This is a free monthly event in Los Angeles, CA that allows writers and/or filmmakers Latinos and/or from underrepresented communities to participate and workshop 10 pages of their scripts. You are also submitting to be part of our behind the scenes and in front of the camera talents to be part of our database. There is a one time small fee for processing & registration. Note: We will be reaching out to you anytime before January 1, 2025 if selected to be part of our Reading & Industry Workshop Series.

Once your 10 pages is submitted it may be eligible to showcase any month this year. Writers make sure to submit your pictures, bios and resume or IMDB.
Actors & Director's submissions listed below. Once you submit your materials as actors or directors, it will be put in our file and you are eligible to be called to participate at any of our monthly series.

Please make sure your script is copyrighted before being submitted.

For Writers: Please only submit 10 pages. They can be any 10 pages in the script, beginning, middle or end. 11 pages max if including your title page. Please make sure you select 10 pages that highlights your main characters, story and tone. It will be performed live by actors, in front of an audience and industry guests. All genres encouraged.

Filmmakers/Writers are allowed to submit from anywhere in the USA. If selected and you do not live in Los Angeles, you are welcomed to join us. We do not provide flight, boarding nor transportation. Please be aware that flight, boarding and transportation will be covered by you the individual submitting, including your team.

General rules: If your project is selected you have the responsibility to cast your actors, hold your own rehearsal prior to the event date. If you are only the writer make sure you select a Latino director to direct your reading, we will have a list on file. If you are the writer/director you are responsible to direct your reading. We will also have a list of actors available you may wish to cast from. Your cast must be diverse and inclusive. We accept talents from underrepresented communities and we don't discriminate against race, cultural background or sexual orientation.

There will be industry professionals and an audience looking at your work. This is purely with the intent to workshop your script and help guide you to producing your indie project. There will be no ties to the industry professionals unless they wish to be involved. There are no awards presented, this is not a competition.

We plan to create a positive workspace where filmmakers and actors feel comfortable to workshop their stories. No project submitted is intended to be produced by Latino Filmmakers Network. If selected, you may receive notification from us to pitch your project or participate in another event. You may find your future collaborators at this event it is up to you to stay in touch.

Latino Filmmakers Network is not liable for any problems that arise from hosting you and your team and presenting your work to a public audience. There is a small processing & registration fee for your script of $30. For Actors and Directors whom wish to be on our file with the possibility of getting selected to participate and be part of our database the processing and registration fee is $25. If you become a Latino Filmmakers Network member you don't have have to pay a submission fee for your script or Actor or Director submission fee. Actors whom wish to participate also have the opportunity of submitting their headshots, resume and reels to be placed in our file. Directors will be able to select actors from our file. Actors will receive a direct email from the Director of the script being workshopped or Latino Filmmakers Network. There may be a chance that you do not get cast but we will keep your information on file. To submit new materials you must re-register. There is no guarantee that the writer or filmmaker may cast you in their workshop or their project. All actors of any cultural background, race or sexual orientation are welcomed to submit. This is a diverse and inclusive space. There is a one time processing & registration fee of $25 for Actors.

Director's whom wish to participate to direct a live reading can submit their picture, resume and reel. We will keep you on file for the opportunity to get selected by a writer to direct their live reading script at the Reading and Industry Workshop Series. There is a one time processing & registration fee of $25 for Director's.

We are also keeping a file for behind the scenes crew & producers. If you would like to be in our file please submit your information. There is a one time processing & registration fee of $25.

Note: You can also submit as a writer if you want to be part of our database, even if you don't wish to participate in the Reading & Industry Workshop Series at this time. Please submit your picture, resume and reel of work you have done if you have one.
