LVBFF proved why it stands as a cornerstone of celebration, empowerment, and cinematic excellence within the Black filmmaking community. Our feature film THE LAST VENDETTA was honored by surprise with Best Drama and Best Actor in a Feature. Beyond the accolades, the festival itself was a warm, vibrant celebration of culture and artistry thanks to what Ms. Michelle and her team have put together. They delivered a memorable experience that continues to uplift and spotlight Black creatives in film.

Attending the 12th Annual Las Vegas Black Film Festival was an incredible honor and an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the festival offered a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly celebrated the power of Black storytelling, artistry, and community.
As a filmmaker, I felt not only seen but supported. The staff and organizers were exceptionally professional, the communication was clear and timely, and every event — from screenings to panels — was thoughtfully curated and uplifting. The screening of my short film, Employee of the Month, was met with genuine engagement, and being nominated for Best Comedy Short was a surreal and humbling moment I’ll never forget.
What made the experience even more special was the opportunity to connect with fellow Black creatives from all over the country — writers, directors, actors, and producers all united by a shared love of cinema and cultural expression. The energy was inspiring, and the encouragement I received from attendees and judges alike has fueled my drive to keep telling stories that matter.
Thank you to the Las Vegas Black Film Festival for creating such an empowering platform for independent filmmakers. I highly recommend this festival to any artist looking to showcase their work in a space that truly understands and uplifts the Black experience.

  • The Las Vegas Black Film Festival has been my greatest film festival experience ever. Unlike most large scale festivals, the complete experience of this festival all takes place in the same location at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino. Films are all screened in real everyday century movie theatres with reclining seats. All events, workshops, guest speakers, networking events, Award shows, Orange Carpet, fashion shows, Vendors, the parties etc are all in beautiful ballrooms inside the same hotel. So you don’t have to leave the hotel when you attend. Events are very professional & upscale dress code is enforced. The professionalism and attention to detail in offering merit here has always been my favorite part of the LVBFF. Filmmakers are truly made to feel valued and celebrated, while at the same time you must really bring your A game to win. The Actors Showdown is truly like no other competition I have seen for actors. Ms Michelle the CEO and her entire team truly care about celebrating, showcasing and building up independent filmmakers. They give you a complete experience that makes you feel like you’re with family and community. The Award show and dinner is amazing every year. I was nominated this past year for Best Written work for my screenplay “In Love With Regret” although I did not win I was honored to have my work selected and nominated. In previous years I have had 2 feature films “Heart N Soul” & “The Council”, one web series “Eugimas Village”, and one short film “Sick Puppy” win over 9 different awards here against very tough competition. I was recently brought on board to teach the Cinematography masterclass here and it has been very rewarding to inspire other filmmakers to keep improving their craft. The Las Vegas Black Film Festival gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. I look forward to supporting this festival every year whether I have a film to enter or not.

  • This was my first time at this film festival and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had! The “Effective Through The Lens” cinematography master class taught by Tyre Mills was amazing, the premiere film “Flip The Scripture” was hilarious, and awards show was a heartfelt celebration of creatives. Ms. Michelle provides a first class experience. I can’t wait until next year!
