  • The staff were great to work with because their communication was clear, consistent and timely. As a writer and filmmaker, it makes it easier when festival organizers are on the ball, and they were!

  • Lady Filmmakers is a FANTASTIC festival that not only curates a great selection of films but also does a wonderful job bringing together people. All of the events are so well planned to create opportunities for the filmmakers to connect, giving the festival a warm community feel. By the end of the festival, I really felt like I walked away with many new friends.

Thank you so much Lady Filmmakers Festival for screening my short film BECCA COMES TO VISIT!

Without really knowing what to expect, when I received the email confirming the selection of our short film for the Lady Filmmakers Festival, I decided to attend in person, inspired by the wonderful reviews I had read here.

Three flights later, I found an impeccable festival — organized, tasteful, welcoming, and filled with events that truly make us feel like movie stars.

I was deeply honored to receive, with the Brazilian short film The Most Red Thing in the World, the Best Foreign Short Film Award of this edition. Our project explores the dynamics of abusive relationships within the heteronormative circle and, even though it was produced on the other side of the Americas, it managed to cross cultural boundaries through the feelings and emotions that shape our story.

I’m very grateful to the festival for giving us the opportunity to shed light on this topic from a more complex perspective — one that, although often discussed, still represents a difficult reality for many women. And, of course, I’m thankful for all the wonderful people I met through the Lady Filmmakers Festival. I truly hope to return in the near future to this inspiring and remarkable event.

Lady Filmmakers was a truly wonderful festival. The events and venues were full of charm, the organizers were incredibly kind, and it was an absolute pleasure to have my film screened in Los Angeles. Showcasing my work in LA also provided a fantastic opportunity for networking.
