Spring of 2024 we are excited to host our second La Crosse Adventure Film Festival! The "Spring Fling - Gear Up to Get Out" weekend event will consist of a film festival and outdoor gear SWAP for our community. In conjunction with Earth Day (and week), we are partnering with a variety of community organizations to bring attention to outdoor recreation and preservation. As part of it, we're excited to share YOUR films!!!

Films will be selected by a small jury to be screened in front of an audience of up to 350 people. These films will be honored and shared via social media, email marketing, and live at the event. Then, audience members will live vote for their favorite films in a variety of categories including People's Choice category on the night of the event.

**We are seeking OUTDOOR ADVENTURE FILM submissions**

BACKGROUND:
La Crosse Adventure Film Festival seeks to bring our community together, through film. We believe everyone needs a "third space" in their life. Most of us are blessed with a home and a workplace. Each of these spaces provides connections, relationships, and meaning. However, what's your third space? This is the space in which you can count on other folks, build relationship, find inspiration and encouragement, and have deep challenging conversations to move our personal needle. La Crosse Adventure Films works to have bi-monthly film showings that provide community members a third space in their life. Each film experience is free for everyone to attend (sponsorship provided by local non-profit Beer By Bike Brigade) and is held at a local historic theater (The Rivoli Theater). With 350 seats, amazing food and beverages, and a unique blend of a 100 year old theater with state of the art technology...we love where we're headed! Now, we want you to be a part of it!

LAFF works to showcase adventure films in a variety of genres (winter recreation, climbing, mountaineering, hiking and backpacking, mountain biking, and truly anything outdoors). Our goal is to plan each film experience around local events and organizations that are doing great things in the outdoor recreation community. We believe in partnerships and collaboration to bring attention to other events and to collectively build the adventure community in our region.

For each festival's selections, we will award the following honors:
Festival Grand Prize Winner
LAFF Award - People's Choice
LAFF Award - Best Cinematography
LAFF Award - Best Creativity
LAFF Award - Best Moving Story
LAFF Award - Best Adventure Film
LAFF Award - Best MidWest Adventure Film

- Professional and amateur films from anywhere in the world are invited to participate. We welcome documentary, fiction, animated and experimental features dealing with adventure sports, outdoor recreation, women in sport, hunting, fishing, climbing, winter recreation, mountain culture, environment, sports and adventures.

- There is no duration limit for a film, but it should be noted that if a film’s duration is over 60 minutes and there is a shorter version available, the shorter version is generally preferred.

- Films must be in English or have English subtitles.

- The Entrant grants LAFF the right to copy the film to facilitate festival operations. This
generally includes but is not limited to providing the film to festival staff and jury members, loans to media reviewing the festival, creating backups, and changing the media format for technical purposes.

- The Entrant grants LAFF the right to use short clips from the film for promotional purposes. These clips are generally less than 15 seconds and are used to compose the LAFF trailer, which is screened at the start of each festival event and is made available online for promotional purposes.
