Sponsored by the Long Island Film-TV Foundation and the County of Nassau, The Long Island International Film Expo – LIIFE, now entering our 25th year – is the longest running regional film festival on Long Island. Selected films will screen in the historic Bellmore Movies and Showplace 350+ seat theater. We also have festival-long networking in our Filmmakers Lounge, daily industry panels, opening and closing night parties, with press and media coverage of our events, screenings, and awards ceremony.

LIIFE accepts films of all genres; Drama, Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi, Arthouse, Psychological, LGBTQIA+, Family, Animated.. you name it! But first and foremost, we love our local Long Island based filmmakers, and we want to showcase your work alongside films from around the world. So if you are a local filmmaker, be sure to submit to one of our Long Island categories. If you are a LIIFE Alum, we want to see more of your work, so please email us at LongIslandFilmExpo@gmail.com for the 2022 Alumni discount code (subject: “Alumni Discount'' and tell us what film you had in the fest, and what year it screened)

Winning films with attending filmmakers will receive trophies at our closing night awards ceremony, as well as laurels for all selected filmmakers. Other prizes (goods and services) may be be added as we get closer to the screening dates.

Best Screenplay Winner will have their screenplay read by actors in a live table read (in-person or virtually, dependent upon on location availability, and time and capacity restrictions), and Winners Certificate & Laurel.

Three (3) screenplay finalists will receive a 4-month InkTip Pro Membership. As an InkTip Pro Member, thousands of filmmakers can find and read your scripts, and you'll be able to pitch directly to production companies every week. With over 3,000 options and 400 movies made, InkTip is the place for independent film.

We will be having our annual 'Scared For Your LIIFE' Horror Block again this year, as well as our second annual Midnight Madness block (see category)!
On Saturday at Midnight we will curate a block of some of the most outrageous and off-the-wall short films we receive. At the end of the block, a one-of-a-kind handmade Midnight Madness award will be presented to one of the filmmakers (who MUST be in attendance to win!)
So, if you have an insanely crazy film that is virtually unclassifiable and would confuse the likes of Ken Russell and David Lynch, we want to see it!

LIIFE is an awesome festival! My film has screened all over the world at more than a dozen festivals, but this is definitely been my favorite. Debra, Manny, Lindsay and all the festival staff worked so hard to make it an amazing event. Their filmmaker lounge was very conducive to networking - always having food and drinks available. Inviting filmmakers to do a panel was also great. Their Q&A was good too. Can't recommend this festival enough!

It was a great honor to have had my short film Annavespa selected and nominated as Best International Film at Long Island International Film Expo. Unfortunately I work in Italy, so I couldn't be there. But the communication was excellent, they answered to all my questions very kindly and kept me updated.
I can't wait to submitt my next short to LIIFE. Thanks to the LIIFE artistic director and to all the staff. It's a great festival.

  • It was a true honor to be with the Long Island International Film Expo, I met some really incredible people while caught myself really enjoying seeing other artists! Their panels are incredibly fun and have such a family like mentality when it treats the filmmakers there. It feels like I was added to a class reunion that hopefully I'll be invited to many more times. Coming to Long Island International Film Expo and to even be able to share my projects in their festival was a dream of mine. So honored to have this opportunity!!!

  • I was so honored to participate in the recent, 25th Annual, LIIFE. As a screenwriter, I felt very supported and delighted that there were events geared specifically for my profession.

Also, an open bar in the filmmakers lounge?!?!?

    Here's to another 25 years!
