1- Organization
LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival is organized by LIFE AFTER OIL Associazione Culturale based in Sardinia and in collaboration with public and private entities.
2 - Dates and length
LIFE AFTER OIL Film Festival will be held in Villanovaforru (SU) Sardinia, Italy from June 16th to June 20th 2026. Deadline for sending films January 15th 2026.

LIFE AFTER OIL Best Environmental short-film (max 30min)

4 – Purposes
The main purpose of the festival is to promote films on the experiences and projects for alternatives to oil and fossil fuels.
They can participate in LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival movies or audiovisual documents without time limit and/or genre.

5 - Official language
All works will be accepted in all languages with subtitles in English or Italian.
6 - Entry to the festival and deadline
Competitions include environmental and human rights theme films produced from January 1st 2024.
Works accepted realized within cinema workshops organized by public and also produced films such as dissertations. The deadline for submissions, is set to January 15th 2026.. Films entered in past editions will be automatically excluded.
7 – Selected Films
The jury of pre-selection and the artistic director of the festival will select the works to be shown to the public and those eligible for prizes.
The list of selected films will be published on www.lifeafteroil.org and authors selected will be notified by email by February 1st 2026.
The selected films must be a premiere in Sardinia otherwise they will be discarded. The selected films must be received at the festival via e-mail (info@lifeafteroil.org) in digital high-resolution HD 1920X1080 or higher, along with No. 1 photo of the director, No. 1 scene photos, dialogue list in english or/and an SRT file format in english for films not in italian, no later than February 15th, 2026. The material will not be returned and will be part of the archive of the festival. Films that must be paid are not accepted.
8 - Screenings
The selected works will be screened and some works not selected among the choices made.The timing and location of the projections will be published on www.lifeafteroil.org
9. Acceptance
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these rules in its entirety.
The Festival can make decisions on matters not provided for in this Regulation.
Registration for the Festival involves the automatic authorization to use free extracts of the work for a maximum of 60 seconds for the broadcast television and promotional purposes of the festival. The film can also be used in schools, universities and non-profit cultural events upon communication and authorization 15 days before the event itself. By entering the festival is implicitly declares, pursuant to and for the effects of the italian/law 196/2003 land subsequent amendments of the European General Data Protection Regulation,, to be fully informed of the purposes and methods of data treatment consciously indicated in the card and authorize the storage in the database of LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival.
Any legal dispute will fall within the Jurisdiction of the Court of Sassari, Italy.

1- Organizzazione
LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival è organizzata dall'Associazione Culturale LIFE AFTER OIL che ha sede in Sardegna e con la collaborazione di Enti Pubblici e Privati.
2 - Date e durata
LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival si terrà a Villanovaforru (SU) Sardegna dal 16 al 20 Giugno 2026. La data di scadenza per l'iscrizione dei film è fissata per il 15 Gennaio 2026.

4 – Scopi
Lo scopo principale del festival è quello di promuovere film sulle esperienze e progetti relativi alle alternative al petrolio e ai combustibili fossili.
Possono partecipare a LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival filmati o documenti audiovisivi senza limiti di durata e/o di genere.
Come ci stiamo preparando all'era post-petrolifera?
5 - Lingua ufficiale
Tutte le opere realizzate verranno accettate in tutte le lingue con sottotitoli in inglese o italiano.
6 - Iscrizione al festival e deadline
I concorsi riguardano i film a tematica ambientale e diritti umani prodotti a partire dal 1°gennaio 2024. Sono ammesse opere realizzate all’interno di laboratori di cinema organizzati da enti pubblici e anche film prodotti come tesi di laurea. Il termine per le iscrizioni e l'invio del film è fissato al 15 Gennaio 2026. Film iscritti nelle passate edizioni verranno automaticamente esclusi.
7 – Film Selezionati
La giuria di pre-selezione e la direzione artistica del festival selezioneranno le opere da proiettare al pubblico e quelle che concorreranno ai premi.
L'elenco dei film selezionati sarà pubblicato su www.lifeafteroil.org e gli autori selezionati riceveranno una notifica via e-mail entro il 1 Febbraio 2026.
I film selezionati dovranno essere un anteprima in Sardegna, diversamente verranno scartati.
I film selezionati dovranno pervenire al festival via e-mail (info@lifeafteroil.org) in formato digitale ad alta risoluzione HD 1920X1080 o maggiore, ) assieme a n°1 foto del regista, n° 1 foto di scena, lista dialoghi in inglese e/o un file SRT in inglese per i film non in lingua italiana entro e non oltre il 15 Febbraio 2025. Il materiale inviato non verrà restituito e farà parte dell’archivio del festival. Non sono accettati film a pagamento.
8 - Proiezioni delle opere
Verranno proiettate le opere selezionate ed alcune opere non selezionate scelte tra le pervenute. Il calendario e la sede delle proiezioni verranno pubblicati sul sito www.lifeafteroil.org
9. Accettazione
La partecipazione al Festival implica l’accettazione del presente regolamento in ogni sua parte. La Direzione del Festival può prendere decisioni relative a questioni non previste dal presente regolamento. L’iscrizione al Festival comporta l’automatica autorizzazione all’uso gratuito di estratti dell’opera per una durata massima di 60 secondi per la messa in onda televisiva e a scopi promozionali del festival. Inoltre il film potrà essere utilizzato nelle scuole, università ed eventi culturali senza scopo di lucro previa comunicazione e autorizzazione 15 giorni prima dell'evento stesso.
Con l'iscrizione al festival si dichiara implicitamente, ai sensi e per gli effetti della legge 196/2003 e successive modifiche, del Regolamento Generale Europeo sulla Protezione dei Dati,, di essere compiutamente informato delle finalità e modalità del trattamento dei dati consapevolmente indicati nella scheda e di autorizzarne l'archiviazione nella banca dati di LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival.
Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Sassari.
