LEEDSflix International Film & Screenplay Competition recognises work from experienced filmmakers, local Leeds and Yorkshire based creatives and student films produced by those studying in the city and beyond. Categories include narrative short films, documentaries, short screenplays and actor's monologues.

The winning short films from the competition are showcased at LEEDSflix Short Film Events, held in conjunction with the Oakwood Film Academy at the Parochial Hall, Oakwood in Leeds.

We also offer professional notes on short films and short scripts. The cost includes entry into the competition with your re-edited film or redrafted short script.

Rules & Terms

All support queries must be sent via paulh@leedsflix.com

All submissions are to be sent digitally via FilmFreeway.

Selected filmmakers and writers are featured on our website and are promoted through our social media.

The Event Directors allocate Season Award Nominations and select Official Selections, Finalists and Winners.

If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a digital transfer of your short film. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened.

If selected, your film can only be screened for the festival edition you have submitted to. We cannot postpone screenings of your film to later festivals.
