This competition is part of the cultural event "L'Aquila European Film Festival," which will take place from April 17 to November 18.

5) A jury of experts will award the following prizes at their sole discretion:
- best international work, recognition and prize of 500 euros in the event of the presence of the winner during the closing ceremony (in addition to any charges pursuant to art. 4);
- best short film, recognition and prize of 200 euros in the event of the presence of the winner during the closing ceremony (in addition to the charges pursuant to art. 4);
- best animation work;
- best documentary, long or short;
- best film, long or short, concerning the environment or mountain;
- best film, long or short, concerning social issues (migration, reception, solidarity, diversity, etc.)
- best film, long or short, concerning youth issues

1) The competition is divided into six sections:
- short films by Italian or European authors, for works lasting no more than 12 minutes;
- feature films by Italian or European authors, for works lasting more than 60 minutes;
- first or second works by Italian or European authors, for works lasting more than 60 minutes;
- short films lasting no more than 12 minutes and feature films lasting more than 60 minutes by Italian or European authors whose main theme is multiculturalism, international geography or the phenomenon of migration of peoples;
- feature films lasting more than 45 minutes with a documentary theme;
- short films lasting no more than 12 minutes and feature films lasting more than 60 minutes by Italian or European authors with environmentalism or the presence of Man in the Mountains as their theme;
2) The works received will be viewed and selected by a technical jury to participate in the final evenings
3) Each author may participate with only one work for the feature film sections and two for the short film sections
4) Any screening fees will be arranged with the distribution rights holders of the selected feature films

6) The works for selection must be sent in any format or via video sharing services (e.g. vimeo, youtube) or file sharing services (wetransfer, etc.) to be addressed to info@cleves.it with the subject “16° L'Aquila Film Festival registration” and specifying the participation section, possibly with a separate subtitle file in Italian or English; works not in Italian must be subtitled (necessarily in Italian or English); alternatively, it is possible to use the FilmFreeway registration service from the address filmfreeway.com/LAquilaFilmFestival;
7) The deadline for sending the works is set for:
- Documentaries: March 31, 2023
- First and second works: April 28, 2023
- Environment and Mountains: June 2, 2023
- Multiculturalism, International Geography and Migrations: September 8, 2023
- Free-themed short and feature films: September 8, 2023
8) Registration is free. All information relating to the competition and the entire event can be viewed on the Association's website http://www.laquilafilmfestival.it
9) Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations in all its points. The Festival Management will regulate unforeseen cases.
