Embracing the digital age, Kyoto – Cinematica offers a fully immersive online platform where global audiences can experience the festival from the comfort of their own homes. The festival features a diverse lineup of films, including feature films, documentaries, animation, and experimental works, all carefully curated to reflect Japan’s unique artistic and cultural identity.

Kyoto – Cinematica also highlights emerging filmmakers, providing a stage for bold new voices in Japanese cinema. In addition to screenings, the festival includes live Q&A sessions with directors, panel discussions on the future of film, virtual reality experiences, and masterclasses on traditional Japanese filmmaking techniques.

With a mission to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, Kyoto – Cinematica invites film enthusiasts worldwide to explore Japan’s cinematic world, while fostering cross-cultural dialogue and creative collaboration in the realm of film and storytelling.

Guaranteed Film Screening: Every selected film will be showcased at the festival, giving all filmmakers a chance to present their work to the audience.

Certificates & Laurels for All: Participants, will receive certificates and laurels, recognizing their achievements and enhancing their portfolios.

Awards & Website Screening for Selected Films: Selected films will not only be awarded but also featured on our website, extending their exposure.

Category Winners Receive Certificates: Each category, such as Best Director or Best Actor, will have winners who receive certificates recognizing their excellence.

Digital Festival Magazine: Participants’ work will be featured in a digital magazine, offering further exposure through interviews, articles, and film highlights.

Optional Trophies (Chargeable): Finalists and award winners can opt for physical trophies (for a fee) as a memorable keepsake of their success.


Rules & Regulations for Kyoto - Cinematica festival

Eligibility:

Films must be completed after 1/1/2005.
Open to feature-length films, shorts, and documentaries.

Submission Format:

Digital submission via FilmFreeway. Overview, Cast & Crew names, Director/scriptwriter/Actors Bio should be mentioned while submitting.
Non-English films must have English subtitles.

Deadlines & Fees:

Early, regular, and late deadlines with tiered fees. (non-refundable)

Screening Rights:

Filmmakers grant the festival screening rights.

Promotional Rights:

Filmmakers grant the social media promotional rights in Instagram, Twitter., YouTube.

Disclaimer: The winning will depend on the judges. No favouritism will be played while awarding.
