Kyle served as associate artistic director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre from 2008 to 2014. In 2015, he was the Resident Director. He is the artistic director of This Happy Breed and co-founder of Ghost Light Pictures. Kyle is a quarterfinalist for the 2021 Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest and The 2021 Southern California Screenplay Competition for his feature script Children of Children. His short script, Lotus, is a 2022 quarterfinalist for Fresh Voices. He received an Ogle Award for his original audio series, The Dead Girl in 2008. He is a 2011 Charlotte Street Foundation Generative Artist Fellow and lives in Los Angeles.
