The Düsseldorf Kurdish Film Festival (DKKF) is dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive space for Kurdish diaspora and allies across Europe. We strive for an environment free from harassment, where everyone’s dignity and safety are respected. We proudly support diverse voices, including women, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, and minorities.

Submissions are now open for the 2025 festival. To participate, please review the guidelines below carefully.
Eligibility
Submissions are open to Kurdish filmmakers and non-Kurdish filmmakers with works that focus on Kurds, Kurdistan, or Kurdish issues and stories.
Accepted Film Categories
• Short Fiction & Short Documentary&Short Animation
Films under 40 minutes, offering concise and impactful storytelling.
• Long Fiction & Documentary&Animation
Feature-length films that provide in-depth narratives or explore real events, with no time limit.
Film Requirements
All films must be produced after 2021
English or German subtitles are required
Submission Process
Films must be submitted electronically via FilmFreeway
Resubmissions of previously entered films are welcome
Legal and Intellectual Property
Filmmakers must own the rights to their films and secure necessary clearances for public exhibition
Filmmakers retain full intellectual property rights over their submissions
Confidentiality & Marketing
Personal information remains confidential
DKKF reserves the right to use images from selected films for promotional purposes
