Kristina Teschner is queer filmmaker based in NYC. She is founder of the queer production company, kids on rocks productions.
A graduate of New York University, she is passionate about creating accurate and abundant media representation for women and the LGBTQ community. Kristina is most interested in working within the intersection of storytelling and policy change.
Last year, Kristina was the staff filmmaker, and content creator for the Cabán For Queens DA campaign. She was filming on the trail, editing videos and photos in moving cars and captioning videos in makeshift offices. Kristina is always looking for more ways to create message-driven media intended to help stimulate and steer national conversation.
Her lived experience as a queer woman became an access point for me to examine other institutional biases and structural issues--from criminal justice reform to climate policy and that awareness is infused in my videos.
Other work includes video production and live audio at Columbia University, Facebook Live series at Wine Enthusiast, video content creation at Signature Theatre and filming interviews with folks like Gloria Steinem, Roxanne Gay, Kara Swisher, Cecile Richards, Alicia Garza and Raquel Willis at the Lesbians Who Tech Summit.
Kristina's body of work as director, producer, dp and editor includes music videos, grassroots campaigns, branded content, live concerts, shorts and documentaries with screenings at festivals including OutWeb Fest, Big Apple Film Festival, Las Vegas Queer Arts Film Festival and the Paris Short Film Festival. Her video and photography work has also been featured in outlets like ATTN, Rebel HG, The Nation, RevryTV, NowThis, GO Mag, Curve Mag, Univision and OUTtv.
