Krista is a multi-talented filmmaker whose career kicked off with producing and acting in the feature film CHICKS, MAN. From there, she immersed himself in the Hollywood landscape, sharpening her business skills as a trusted assistant to Oscar-winner Dustin Hoffman. Transitioning back to her roots in theater, Krista worked alongside Tony Award-winning producers Steven Eich and Randall Arney, as well as renowned director Gil Cates, at the prestigious Geffen Playhouse.
In 2002, Krista took the helm as Executive Director of The Groundlings Theatre, where she collaborated with some of the most influential comedic talents in Hollywood today, including Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, Edi Patterson, Mikey Day, Jim Rash, and Will Forte. Her extensive work with top-tier comedic actors has given her an unparalleled understanding of what it takes to craft dynamic performances and compelling stories.
Krista's directorial talents shine in her award-winning short films DIME SHORT, THE FAMILY HOOD, and LOSING ANTONIA. As a writer, her accomplishments include co-writing the feature script INVISIBLE with Laura Carson, a script that ranks in the top 6% on Coverfly. The project has attached talent - Will Forte, Jim Rash, and Tony Cavalero - along with serious interest from Netflix. As a writing team, Krista and Laura are also a force in adaptation, having co-written THE WIANCÉE (based on Rachel Gladstone’s book The Weekend Wedding Assistant) and IMMORTAL BLOODED (adapted from the book by EE Drake - Vampire Diaries director Michael Allowitz attached as producing director).
Breaking new ground with original material, Krista has recently penned the girls-trip comedy DOBLE QUINCEAÑERA and the faith-forward adventure comedy THE CRUSADER, with Scott Roberts. Currently, she is in development for DUSTY ACRES, an upcoming YouTube comedy series described as GOLDEN GIRLS meets SHARKNADO— only with aliens—and she's preparing to co-direct her first feature, COMFORT FOOD, a project she both developed and is producing.
In addition to her creative work, Krista has become a sought-after mentor and advocate for emerging talent. As a partner with SeriesFest’s Pitch-A-Thon, she has created and helms a program that guides rising creators in mastering their all-important pitch.This program has taken her to SXSW, TIFF, IFA, Second City, The Cherokee Nation Film Institute and more. Her unique blend of creativity and business acumen makes her an invaluable partner for those seeking to collaborate with a visionary storyteller who can balance creativity and business in an ever-evolving landscape.
