Director, performer and visual artist based in Iceland.
Klāvs Liepiņš (he/him) (b. 1991, Latvia) is a queer multidisciplinary artist and director based in Iceland. His practice spans performance, video, installation, and choreography, focusing on the intersections of identity, the body, and social structures. A graduate of the Iceland University of the Arts (BA in Contemporary Dance, 2018), Liepiņš draws from his Latvian heritage and Icelandic environment to create conceptually driven and visually grounded works.
Liepiņš is one half of the emerging artist duo together with Renāte Feizaka, whose collaborative practice has garnered significant recognition. Their project Primordial Loop (2025) became part of the Gerðarsafn Art Museum collection, following their nomination for the work Potato People for the Icelandic Art Prize in 2022. His short films Godspeed and Corpus have received multiple awards and have been screened at international festivals.
