FilmJam is a unique film festival in Kherson (Ukraine) which is created to promote amateur film movement. The main event of the festival is the contest "Film in a week", however since 2018 we have an open contest for which we accept shorts, under 15 minutes with English or Ukrainian subtitles. The aim of the festival is to show to Ukrainian audience the most diverse selection of short films by best directors from Ukraine and the whole world. In 2021 thr 7-th "FilmJam" festival will be dediceted entirely to genre cinema. The films are accepted in following programs:
- best horror
- best sci-fi/fantasy film
- best detective/thriller film
- best action/adventure
- best animation
- best international short (non genre)
- best Ukrainian genre film

Winners in each category will receive cups and prizes.

The films chosen in their respected categories will be shown to audience during screenings during the days of the festival in a theater in Kherson Ukraine. The best films in each category will be defined by the Jury, also an audience-award will be given, as decided by the audience during the live screenings.

    It is a community-run festival and one of the rare festivals that still hold physical screening during the time of virtual film festivals. Bravo for that. Of course. I cannot go there to present in person. But judging from the pictures, they do a close-knit festival and their love for films are apparent. Keep up the good job.
