KEVIN RUIZ (S'ids Lake) is a Hispanic/European filmmaker who has worked in the film industry in some capacity for 15 years, but it wasn’t until four years ago when he decided to write, direct, and produce his own films. His first short film “THE PROBLEM WITH EVOLUTION” won six awards, including best comedy at the LA Cinfest festival. Kevin has gone on to write and direct a total of 21 films, ranging from comedy (BRUCE WAYNE BEGINS, MILLENNIALITIS, THE STORY TOPPER), Drama (THE 7 LIVES OF SARA BLANCHARD, DEATHPROOF, THE PATRIOT), Sci-Fi (HUMAN REPORT 85616), and has just finished his first feature film (S'IDS LAKE) which he made in 6 days with $25,000. Many of his films received awards in film festivals and can be watched on Amazon Prime.
Whether the film is comedy, drama, or thriller, the one thing that all his films will have in common, is psychology. Whether it is poking fun at something humans do, putting a character into a thought-provoking situation, or even giving someone a chance to speak for the human race in the face of judgement, all of his films make you think. Kevin has always wanted to use the film industry as a platform to improve the world around him and hopes to leave a positive message when all is said and done.
