Growing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before the world had access to film-quality cameras on their phone and ubiquitous access to the entertainment industry, Keith Andreen felt like his passionate love of movies and movie-making made him something of an oddball.
Storytelling has always been in Andreen's DNA. His oil industry accountant father loved classic Old Hollywood films which he shared with his son. They inspired Andreen to take the leap and head off to Los Angeles to do whatever he could to get into the world of show business.
After arriving in the mid-1990’s, Andreen became known off camera as a "Human Swiss Army Knife," supporting productions as a PA, grip, camera grip, 1st AC, Cameraman, DP, set builder, electrician, gaffer, stunt driver, background actor, costar and lead.
His eclectic career includes being a staff writer at a CBS gameshow to becoming a segment producer for Paul Römer’s BIG BROTHER and Mark Burnett's COMBAT MISSIONS; working as Yoko Ono’s “overnight security guard” whenever she visited Los Angeles; developing a friendship with the late legendary rock drummer, Neil Peart of Rush and touring with the band; collaborating with SPARTACUS Director TJ Scott on indie thriller DEATH VALLEY; directing numerous music videos; and creating one of the industry’s most successful on-camera/coaching studios for working actors.
His own numerous on-screen TV credits include GREY’S ANATOMY, LONGMIRE, SCORPION, HIT THE FLOOR, SAM & KAT, MIXOLOGY and SNOW BRIDE.
Andreen focused his varied life experiences into creating narratives that defy the crutch of current special-effects-laden features, crafting numerous screenplays and potential series that center around the depth of the human experience. Like his current short, “Mayfly”, which shows you don’t need to have millions to make a movie that will touch your heart.
Andreen has also joined his wife, Katrina Law from NCIS, in building schools within impoverished areas such as Nepal, Haiti, Malawi, and Senegal for the renowned charity, BuildOn, and still travels the world doing adventure photography in exotic and dangerous locations.
