Kazuhiro Teranishi is a Japanese filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. He made his directorial debut with The Actress, which was screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival. His films have also been officially selected for the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Montreal World Film Festival. He won the Grand Prize at the Monaco International Film Festival for Tokyo Boys Collection. In Japan, he is widely known for the popular and acclaimed horror-mystery SPELL series, for which he serves as director, writer, and producer. With AYUMI, he explores the pressures modern society places on women’s bodies, choices, and sense of worth.
