My name is Kayla. I grew up in the south of the United States, Nashville to be exact. I've always had a story to tell but living in Music City, I felt overshadowed by song writers and musicians. When I moved to Los Angeles a new part of me opened up. The floodgates for writing screenplays has been overflowing and I'm ready for my ideas to be heard and collaborate with kind and passionate individuals who want to create a better world through television and film.
For the last year I've been working on an anthology series called 1944. Each episode centers on a LGBTQ-IA connections that occurred in various cities through out the world as WW2 comes to an end. After years of heartbreak and turmoil, these humans find a hopeful light in someone else who happens to be trans, the same gender and/or another race. These could have been our grandparents or great-grandparents stories. We'll never know. But going back and conjuring the souls of those who loved might be the key to creating more understanding for those who would never fathom such complicated love stories.
