Kay Oceans, 23, is a director and screenwriter from the province of Barcelona. He studied a Diploma in Film Directing at the Barcelona Film School (ECIB) from 2020 to 2023. He subsequently completed a Master's Degree in Screenwriting at Showrunners from 2024 to 2025.
During his studies, he made his first short film, "Luthier Tears," which was selected for the 4th Edition of the Craft and Audiovisual Showcase. His latest short film, "Gökotta," is in the final stages of post-production and will soon be released.
He has currently completed his first short documentary, "7 Days till Real Life." He is also in the process of producing his next short film called “The Felleds”, and working on the development of his first feature film.
By experimenting with different narratives and mixing different resources such as live-action, stop motion, and 2D animation, he has managed to discover a new way to communicate. Since he's on the autism spectrum, he's always struggled to verbally express what's inside his head and make it understandable to others. Through essays and film, he's been able to find his own language and visual imagery.
