Kay Oceans (2002) is a queer and neurodivergent director and screenwriter from Barcelona. He studied a Diploma in Film Directing at the Barcelona Film School (ECIB) from 2020 to 2023. He subsequently completed a Master's Degree in Screenwriting at Showrunners from 2024 to 2025.
During the last year of his studies, he made his first short film "Gökotta," a piece that mixes live action, 2D animation and stop motion, will soon be premiered at The Sitges Fantastic Film Festival 2025.
He has currently completed his first short documentary, "7 días para la Vida Real". He is also in the process of producing his next short film "Los Deforestados" and working on the development of his first feature film.
By experimenting with different narratives and mixing different resources such as live-action, stop motion, and 2D animation, he has managed to discover a new way to communicate. Since he's on the autism spectrum, he's always struggled to verbally express what's inside his head and make it understandable to others. Through essays and film, he's been able to find his own language and visual imagery.
