Kavita Parekh is an Indian-American screenwriter and director residing in New York. Parekh won the Makower Post Production Grant for her film "Two Tickets to Mars,” and was named Best Cinematic Director at New York’s Blackbird Film Festival in 2022, as well as being invited to serve as a judge for the 2022 Austin Film Festival narrative submissions. In 2020 she co-founded the production company Big Cow Studio where she and her partners create high quality educational content that reaches global audiences. Her films explore family, love, and a crumbling American identity. Parekh’s current short film, “Drive Fast, Dean!” Is in development. She holds a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
