Katherine Wyeth is a writer, director, performer and producer for film and theatre. She grew up above The iconic Kings Head Theatre in London (born in a box as they say), and has been treading the boards since she was eight years old. She has garnered outstanding reviews for her performances in diverse roles, from Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams, musicals and black comedy to dramatic fare, including Peter Pan in Peter Pan, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, with Sean Maguire, Joe in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, with Clive Owen and An Inspector Calls directed by Stephen Daldry at the Royal National Theatre, London.
Since migrating to New Zealand, Katherine co-founded Sea Star Creations with her Mother, Stephanie Sinclaire Lightsmith. Award winning short film Goblin Market was the launch film for Sea Star Creations, which Katherine co-wrote, co-produced and directed. Since then Katherine has co-produced feature documentary film MAVERICK, telling the story of The King's Head Theatre, London.
In 2019, Katherine was appointed producer for renowned Pacific company The Conch. She has produced award winning feature documentary film A Boy Called Piano - The Story of Fa'amoana John Luafutu for The Conch. This powerful film explores the journey of Fa'amoana as he revisits his childhood experiences in state care - and the intergenerational impacts on his family.
Katherine is currently in post production for her documentary film LIGHTMSITH, narrated and produced by Katherine - about the life and work of her beloved Mother, Stephanie - who passed away last year.
