Kaş International Film Festival welcomes filmmakers and film lovers for the fifth time to the picturesque Mediterranean town of Kaş, Türkiye. Overlooking the endless turquoise sea, the festival offers an immersive blend of culture, art, and nature — all brought together through a carefully curated selection of short films in the relaxed, sun-kissed atmosphere of Kaş.

Our fifth edition, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, the Municipality of Kaş, and Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, will take place in June 2026. The program features Q&A sessions with finalists and culminates in an award ceremony at the breathtaking 2,000-year-old Antiphellos Ancient Theatre, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Greek island Kastellorizo. A diverse lineup of workshops, panel discussions, and screenings is being offered — all free and open to the public.

Historically a source of inspiration for filmmakers and artists, Kaş once again proved to be an ideal setting for international creative exchange. With this growing global event, we aimed to contribute to Kaş’s already vibrant arts scene, offering meaningful opportunities to network and connect with the international film community.

Following the main festival in Kaş, selected finalist films will be screened at the iconic Kadıköy Sineması in Istanbul. As always, the screenings are free and open to all.

In October 2025, Kaş International Film Festival was awarded the EFFE Label 2026–2027 — a mark of excellence by the European Festivals Association (EFA).

EFFE — Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe — is an initiative by the EFA that celebrates festivals with outstanding artistic quality, community involvement, and international impact. It’s Europe’s quality stamp for remarkable arts festivals that build bridges through creativity, connect people, and enrich cultural life beyond the stage or screen. To receive the EFFE Label, a festival must meet at least 7 out of 10 quality standards set by the EFA, an EU-supported platform dedicated to ensuring that all citizens have access to culture and the arts. KIFF meets 9 of these 10 criteria.

We accept submissions from all around the world, and we especially encourage underwater films to submit for the special underwater film category. Kaş is famous for its bustling and pristine underwater life, just as for its fascinating wrecks. There's a great interest and awareness for underwater life in this charming town, so it is the right place to promote your underwater productions, whether it's fiction or documentary.

Kaş International Film Festival features a two-step evaluation system with a pre-jury and a main jury. Both consist of distinguished professionals from across the film industry, including Academy members, directors, producers, academicians, actors, editors, screenwriters, and documentarians.

Past Jury Members Included:

Our past editions welcomed international filmmakers to Kaş and then to Istanbul and were judged by an outstanding jury of leading industry professionals, including:

• Yorgos Mavropsaridis – two-time Oscar-nominated editor (The Favourite, Poor Things)
• Hany Abu-Assad – two-time Oscar-nominated director (Paradise Now, Omar)
• Alex Sutherland – producer (ARGO, Aftersun)
• Merve Dizdar – actress (winner of Palme d’Or at the 76th Cannes Film Festival)
• Christian Almesberger – director of photography (Babylon Berlin, Sense 8, Cloud Atlas)

All finalists are invited to Kaş and hosted for 4 nights. The festival offers an exclusive dinner and cocktails with fellow filmmakers and jury members, as well as Q&A sessions throughout the event.

• Filmmakers whose works are accepted will be notified via email and must confirm their participation by the specified deadline. Failure to do so may result in the loss of their spot in the line-up.

Hospitality:

• All finalists will be invited to Kaş. Either the director or the producer will be offered 4 nights of accommodation.

• Finalists will also be invited to an exclusive dinner and cocktails with other filmmakers and jury members.

As a filmmaker, I, Marine Auclair, would like to share my testimony: attending KIFF has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in the world of cinema. It was an absolute delight to be welcomed so warmly by such wonderful, cinema-loving people.

The activities and the opportunity to connect in such a genuine and human way with other film professionals are incredibly well organized and thoughtfully designed to make the stay both productive and, above all, enjoyable. The location itself is one of the most special places I have ever visited in my life.

A special thanks to the festival director, Seren, and to Zeynep, who took care of us like no one else and made us feel completely at ease. Without a doubt, if I had the chance to return, I would do it without hesitation.

I wholeheartedly encourage anyone with a short film who wants a truly unique experience to apply to this festival, you won’t regret it!
