Karla Meza is a Canadian-Mexican filmmaker based in Montreal. She began directing and producing documentary short films in 2019, while reporting as an independent journalist on issues related to asylum seekers, seasonal workers and undocumented migrants in Canada. Wishing to hone her voice as an author and her skills as a documentary film director, she undertook professional training at L'institut national de l'image et du son (L'inis) in Montreal in 2021 and founded her production company, Meztli Productions, reinforcing her position in the audiovisual industry as a creator of engaging works that explore fractured identity, exile and forced migration.
