Julien Mouquet is a 24-year-old filmmaker, holding a Master's degree in Filmmaking from the London Film Academy. He took his first steps with a camera in Southeast Asia: during his gap year in 2018, he directed a series of short documentaries for a humanitarian agency in various countries such as Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and others. Julien began to build his experience in the film industry in London, earning a Bachelor's degree in Film and Drama from Queen Mary University, aspiring to be a director, screenwriter, and actor, while remaining open to other roles like production and editing.
In 2021, he worked as a videographer, screenwriter, and editor for Pernod Ricard in Spain.

Julien blends elements of comedy and drama to write and tell stories full of sensitivity and fantasy that can both move and make people laugh. His approach involves taking a challenging subject and highlighting its positive aspects to encourage people to adopt a more optimistic perspective. As a writer, he enjoys observing people's behavior and the interactions within his circle of friends and family to create characters. As a director, he appreciates the human connection, teamwork, and building relationships that embody the essence of filmmaking.

With "L'Hypermnésique," his first fiction short film, he hopes to touch people through a sensitive and humane story, while striking a balance between nuanced drama and comedy.
