Julian Emilio is a Mexican audiovisual artist who lived most of his life in Mexico until 2015 when he moved to Toronto to pursue his passion and dreams in audiovisual arts and the film industry. He studied communication science as his bachelor degree and years later he studied Film and TV production.
Growing up, his biggest creative influences were music magazines, hip-hop culture, MTV videos of the 90's, anime, Pixar movies and Hollywood drama movies from the 90's and 2000's. He started to take his first urban photos and videos around 2010 using his first DSLR Canon, where he started to combine his passion and knowledge of music, with his first visuals.
Over the years he has been selected to participate in different audiovisual projects in Mexico and Canada; plus he has won awards to display his visuals in places such as subway lines in Toronto with TTC. In addition he has worked in the postproduction department for organizations such as Nike, NBA Canada, Toronto Raptors and the Canadian Olympic Team.
After filming low-budget and independent short films the last five years; in 2021 he finally decided to start participating in film festivals, submitting some of the projects he has enjoyed the most doing over the last few years.
Some of his projects included the short film Another Night (2021) and music videos such as The Play (2022) and Candy (2023).
