Julia has been a filmmaker for over ten years and a writer for as long as she can remember. Originally from New York, she graduated New York Film Academy’s conservatory program in 2012 and was later a teaching assistant and Cinematography instructor at both the New York and Mumbai NYFA campuses.
She has lead filmmaking workshops at Beijing Film Academy and La Fémis, Paris. She has worked in the camera department on many film, commercial and documentary sets, and spent time as a camera and lens technician.
Her latest short film, Jeff, has a simultaneous premiere at the 2025 Miami International Film Festival and the Beverly Hills Film Festival, and was the recipient of the Seed & Spark Patron's Circle Grant. She is currently developing the feature version of the short.
