Ju!ced Film Festival is a short film festival that showcases emerging independent filmmakers from East Africa.

Our focus is to build an appetite for an alternative kind of film that may fall outside what is currently considered mainstream. We believe that these voices will continue to build on the landscape of cinema in the region.

We have successfully completed our 3rd edition of the festival in 2025. So far we have screened brilliant short films, received numerous film submissions, held Q&A and topic led panel sessions with the filmmakers and curated meet & greet sessions with the filmmakers and the audience.

We also bring in industry experts to speak and train on specific topics that may equip our filmmaker's community as they continue to build their craft.

The festival attracts very interesting and cool individuals who love film. It's an opportunity to network and meet new collaborators and even make a new friend!

We are gearing towards our next installation and we hope to screen your short film!

Rules & Terms

All films must be filmed in East Africa.
Short films must be less than 30 minutes in runtime.
The festival accepts short films of any genre or style.
We're keen to see experimental work from the filmmakers.
The festival accepts student films.
Selected filmmakers will be notified by the festival no later than 24th July.

    I truly appreciated how supportive and engaging the festival organizers were, they made me feel part of a creative community that values filmmakers’ work. The energy and the hype they gave me was out of this world, Personally how they loved my film made me feel valued as an indie filmmaker. it gave me a sense of belonging.
    The showcase was well-curated, and it provided a great platform for independent filmmakers to connect and grow.
